Willamette Community Bank celebrates Community Bank Week October 19-23

Albany, OR – October 19-23, 2020 is Community Bank Week in Oregon, which celebrates the essential role Oregon’s community banks play in local economic development, job creation, and the growth of unique and prosperous communities. For the third year, Willamette Community Bank is celebrating Community Bank Week with a full week of volunteer service.

“We know the importance of giving back both monetarily and with our hands and minds,” says Joan Reukauf, President and CEO of Willamette Community Bank. “Last year’s Community Bank Week was a great success and the impact that it had on our communities and our people was simply amazing. We are looking forward to an even greater impact this year.”

Employees from our three bank branches and administration office will participate in donations and volunteer work benefitting the following organizations:

  • Saint Mary’s Soup Kitchen (Albany)
  • Fish of Albany
  • SafeHaven Humane Society (Albany/Tangent)
  • Kitty Angel Adoption Team (Lebanon)
  • Family Tree Relief Nursery (Albany)
  • Linn Benton Food Share (Albany/Tangent)
  • Marion / Polk County Food Share
  • Albany Parks and Recreation

Additionally, on Friday, October 23 the bank’s leadership team is partnering with Shred Northwest to host a Community Shred event from 10am-1pm at the Willamette Community Bank Administration Building (200 SW Ferry Street, Albany, OR 97321). All members of the public are invited to bring old personal and confidential documents to be shredded onsite and discarded securely.

“We know this year has been challenging for many in our community, which is why it’s so important to lend a hand and give of our time and resources,” says Bob Moore, CFO of Willamette Community Bank. “Community Bank Week is all about putting the communities we serve first.”
