Albany, OR — Oregon Governor Kate Brown proclaimed October 21-25, 2019 as Community Bank Week in Oregon to celebrate the essential role Oregon’s community banks play in local economic development, job creation, and the growth of unique and prosperous communities.
For the second year, Willamette Community Bank is celebrating Community Bank Week with a full week of volunteer service. “We know the importance of giving back both monetarily and with our hands and minds,” says Joan Reukauf, President and CEO of Willamette Community Bank. “Last year’s Community Bank Week was a great success and the impact that it had on our communities and our people was simply amazing. We are looking forward to an even greater impact this year.”
Employees from our three bank branches, administration office, and all board members will participate in volunteer work benefitting the following organizations:
- Meals on Wheels (Lebanon)
- Fish of Albany
- Horses of Hope (Turner)
- SafeHaven Humane Society (Albany/Tangent)
- Habitat for Humanity (Salem)
- Family Building Blocks (Salem)
- Linn Benton Food Share (Albany/Tangent)
- Boys and Girls Club (Albany)
Additionally, bank employees will be collecting donations for the Center for Hope & Safety (Salem), CARDV (Albany), and Kitty Angel Team Adoption (Lebanon), and the bank’s leadership team is partnering with Shred-it and the Oregon Bankers Association to host a Community Shred event on Thursday, October 24 from 10am-2pm at the Willamette Community Bank Administration Building (200 SW Ferry Street, Albany, OR 97321).
During Willamette Community Bank’s 2018 Community Bank Week celebration, employees and board members completed 135 community service hours. The bank anticipates to exceed those numbers this year.
